Mobile mode

Booking that knows where you're driving

Built for mobile beauticians, barbers, cleaners, PTs, and tattoo artists. Per-day travel areas, travel-time-aware availability, and a daily route map - included in the Rexabook base.

Mobile mode is included in every Rexabook subscription - free during the 7-day trial, included in the $38.40/month base after.

The problem

Three postcodes, no warning

Most booking systems were built for fixed-location salons. Mobile work breaks them in quiet, expensive ways.

Sarah's a mobile beautician. Wednesday she's in CW10 - Crewe. She sets a 30-minute buffer between bookings and trusts the system to handle the rest.

A client books her for 12:00 in Crewe. The next one books 11:30 in Northwich - fifteen kilometres and twenty-five minutes away. Both bookings confirm. Both look fine on the diary.

Sarah finds out when she's running between them. The 12:00 client waits twenty minutes; she's flustered for the rest of the day. Other booking platforms can't catch this - they have staff calendars, not journey-aware availability.

Travel Areas

Per-day coverage, not a one-size radius

Set per-day coverage - Mondays in N1, Tuesdays in E8, weekends in N16. The booking wizard hides slots that fall outside today's area. Customers in an area you don't cover see a soft message with a one-tap waitlist signup - you see those waitlist requests on your dashboard so you know where the demand is when you decide to expand.

Smart Scheduling

The safety net for impossible journeys

Buffer time is location-blind - the same 30-minute gap whether the next client is next door or 10 kilometres away. Smart Scheduling adds a safety-net rule that hides slots when the actual journey clearly exceeds your buffer. The safety net only fires when buffer time would obviously fail - borderline cases still show.

Smart Scheduling

Clustered slots come first

When a customer opens the time picker, slots that work geographically float to the top - earlier start times in your area, then nearby variants, then a longer-journey slot as a fallback. Cuts dead-time driving and lets you stack your day tighter without surprises.

Everything Mobile mode unlocks

One purchasable thing. Tick it once - these six features light up together.

Home Base

Your starting postcode each day. The origin for travel-time calculations and the centre of your route map.

Travel Areas

Per-day geographic zones. Postcode prefixes or radius from a centre. Customers outside your zone join a waitlist.

Travel settings

Transport mode (driving / cycling / walking / public transport), buffer time, road factor. Tunes the maths to your reality.

Travel-time safety net

Hides slots when the journey can't fit. Only fires on clearly impossible cases - borderline ones still show.

Cluster preference

Slots near existing bookings appear first in the time picker. The quiet, everyday win - fires on every booking page load.

Daily route view

Mobile-aware scheduling - only on Rexabook

Most booking platforms have staff calendars. Few model journeys between same-day bookings. If you travel for work, the difference shows up the first week.

Mobile FAQ

Do I need to do anything special if I sometimes travel?
If you're hybrid - fixed location plus occasional home visits - Mobile mode is still worth turning on. Travel Areas let you set per-day coverage (Saturdays in the studio, Tuesdays mobile), and Smart Scheduling keeps your travel days clustered. Enable it from Settings - it's part of the base, no extra cost.
How is Smart Scheduling different from buffer time?
Buffer time is location-blind - the same 30-minute gap whether the next client is next door or 10 kilometres away. That works for most days. Smart Scheduling adds three things on top: a safety-net rule that hides slots when the actual journey clearly exceeds your buffer, a cluster sort that pulls nearby slots to the top of the time picker, and a daily route view that maps your bookings in driving order. The safety net only fires when buffer time would obviously fail - borderline cases still show.
What if a customer is outside my travel area?
They see a soft message - "Sorry, we don't cover that area" - with a one-tap waitlist signup. You see those waitlist requests on your dashboard, so when you decide to expand, you already know where the demand is.
Can I override the system for an awkward booking?
Yes. The safety net only applies to customer-facing slots. When you add a booking from your dashboard, you can confirm a tight travel window with one click - the system warns you but doesn't block. You're an adult; you know your area.
What does the daily route view show?
Today's bookings plotted on a map with route order and estimated travel times. Tap a pin to see the booking. Numbered pins, lines connecting them in chronological order, distance and time per leg. The view people screenshot for marketing.
Is Mobile mode an extra charge?
No - Mobile mode is included in the base $38.40/month platform. Home Base, Travel Areas, travel-time-aware availability, cluster sorting, and the daily route map all come with every Rexabook subscription. Toggle Mobile mode on from Settings whenever you want to use it.
