Rexabook Payments is free to enable and built on Stripe. It powers three things: customers paying online at booking, deposits, and Card Protection (a saved card charged automatically if someone no-shows).
Setting it up
Go to Payments in your dashboard and follow the onboarding flow - it collects the details Stripe needs to pay out to your bank account. Most traders finish it in a few minutes. Until it’s complete, your booking page can still take bookings, but customers can’t pay online.
How the fees work
Rexabook doesn’t charge a subscription just to take payments - Rexabook Payments is free to enable on every plan. Two small fees apply per transaction, always shown to the customer up front, never hidden in your payout:
- A booking fee the customer pays on top of your price (a few pence/cents, calibrated to your country) - this is what funds the text message confirmations and reminders that keep no-shows down.
- A small platform fee (0.25% of the service price) - Rexabook’s own cut.
Everything else goes to Stripe’s standard processing rate, same as any card payment.
Deposits and Card Protection
Once payments are connected, you can require a deposit (a fixed amount or a percentage, taken at booking) or Card Protection (a card is saved but not charged unless the customer doesn’t show up). Set these per-service under Services → [service] → Payment settings.
Card Protection is the lighter-touch option - it doesn’t add friction to the booking page the way a deposit does, but it still gives you something to charge against a no-show.
Don’t want online payments?
You don’t have to. Traders on the Pay As You Go plan take payment in person - cash, or your own card machine - with no Stripe Connect setup at all. You still get a card saved on file so PAYG’s per-booking fee can be collected automatically each month, but customers are never charged online. Switch to this from Billing at any time.
Self-employed staff (booth rental)
If your team is made up of self-employed staff who rent a chair rather than draw a wage, each of them can connect their own Stripe account under their Team → Payments tab. Bookings assigned to them settle straight to their own account, not yours - useful for barbershops and salons run on a chair-rental model.
